A report about THE TWINS from an uruguayan site

In 1980, Sven Dohrow and Ronny Schreinzer decided together to create a new band, after they have been in several bands as guitarists and drummers.
By the principle they were inspired by bands like Tubeway Army, Gary Numan, OMD and Depeche Mode.

The name of “binoculars” ("The Twins") can sound a little funny for the fans of Spanish speech because definitively they are not twin. The idea behind the name is for describing the form to work when they create his music together. In fact, twins are no other people involved in the process of elaboration of a registry of “the”. Sven and Ronny are the composers, singers, musicians and producers and are also responsible for the mixture and mastering of the end item.

Its first single “The Desert Place” became a true success in the tracks of dance in Germany and the remezclada version entered “U.S.-Billboard-Dance” in 1981. The great advance came in Europe when Phase entered chart Italian the song “to Phase” that was one of singles more sold in Italy in 1983.

A little later the band sera changed again. The fact that Ronny evolved during many years like drummer, allowed the binoculars to add more emotion to the live band by means of the inclusion in some parts of two drummers.

At the end of 1987 after the binoculars ("The Twins") removed their album “Hold on to your dreams” was offered to make a tour in the Soviet Union took that them to Moscow and Leningrad. During these 10 concerts they had the opportunity to touch in front of 120,000 people.

After the tour Ronny and Sven they decide to take a rest and to produce other artists in its own studies. In 1991, the binoculars have their return when they sent to an album remix of his great successes that was called “ClassicsRemixed”. The success of this CD was overwhelming and it thinks that it is hour to form a new album.

He took almost two years them to finish the next album, since they wanted to make the disc as good as it was possible. The album was called “The Impossible Dream” and the song “Tonight”, single of the album, subio to the stop of chart once again.

Recently they published “the Singles Collection” with its better works and several unknown subjects.

This band in their sound, was advanced to their age, touched the 80 with a sound but 90 and realised dance a perfect mixture of MGP electronic.
